Cut and sew garment company in Vietnam

Cut and sew refers to the type of garment we make - also known as knitwear, jersey or cut-knit. Not to be confused with fully-fashioned knit. We produce 50 tons of fabric monthly for our own internal needs. We buy basic accessories as labels, hangtags, poly bags, carton boxes locally. For fabric and accessories that local price and quality are not competitive, we source from China and other countries. We cut and sew garments according to your specifications in our own factories. We are not a CMT factory and we don’t make sweaters.

Our business started in 1989 by producing leather products such as belts, wallets, purses. Then we changed to sew down jackets, seam-sealing jackets which turned us to be a cut and sew garment company in Vietnam. In 1996, we switched again from woven products to knitwear. We have been sewing embellished men, women and children garments using circular knitted fabrics for our customers. We have 15 sewing lines and 2 sample lines that produce over 200,000 pieces per month. Two sample lines to support your customers.

After Great Financial Crisis, we started to produce knit fabric in year 2011. We are now producing 50 tons of knitted fabric from cotton, cvc, polyester, viscose (rayon), TR, modal .... We knit and dye the fabric in Vietnam before sewing in our factories.

We take CSR very seriously and maintain our Oeko-Tex, SA 8000 and Target certification to be compliant.

Our head office is in HCMC 10 minutes from district 1 (10 minutes from the Sheraton Hotel.) Our district 9 production facility is 40 minutes from Sheraton. Our Duc Linh factory is 2.5 hours from Sheraton. We have all the standard sewing machines for cut and sew knitwear including flat lock (also known as flat seaming) for sportswear. We have our own heat seal machines as well as all the standard equipments like fabric checking stations, cutting tables, QC, Ironing, needle-detecting and packing.

We keep ourselves most updated with the free trade agreements which were activated or will be activated. We are fluent with GSP form A, EUEA, CPTPP and we look forward to EVFTA.

How should we start? Are you ready to get a price quote?

I will review your email if I can meet your needs. It's the best if you can provide tech packs and other information to quote price. Or, you can provide me your website and more information for me to understand your need.

Please note that Thai Son only produces garments with knit fabric (cut-knit) and I am comfortable to go with orders of 1,000 pieces per style.

Latest News: What benefits CPTPP bring?

In the previous years, there was an argument whether TPP should be YARN FORWARD. I always supported yarn-forward in order to protect Vietnam garment industry from the movement from China which only transit its good via Vietnam to get the Vietnam Certificate of Origin.

With CPTPP, it’s more amazing how the Rule of Origin is. CPTPP requests the yarn to be produced in Vietnam except the ones in Short-Supplied List.

The day we got our first Certificate of Origin form CPTPP, we all congratulated our Chief Logistics Lady. Looks like we are the first cut and sew factory in the south to get the CPTPP Certificate of Origin.

Since CPTPP was activated on December 30, 2018, year 2019 will be the 2nd year in the tariff cut schedule. This is another sweet surprise for both Vietnamese sewing companies and Canadian importers.

EVFTA-Upcoming steps & Benificial facts

The Europe – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) is the FTA that a lot of sewing factories in Vietnam has been waiting for.

On the end of June 30th, 2019, EVFTA was officially signed which will put the import – export between Vietnam and Europe to a whole new better step.

The upcoming procedures might end up with the effective date of this EVFTA on the very first half of 2020.

It was a pleasure to acknowledge that the Garment industry will take the most of this whenever it effects.

71% of the import tariff will be reduced and will be 99.2% (B7) after 7 years since the effective date of the EVFTA.

I am looking forward to further instruction to apply for EVFTA Certificate of Origin from MOIT and VCCI.

I’ll keep you posted on any news on EVFTA on our company website.
